I seem to have been off of the radar recently, but this is not the case. In fact, far from it.
I’ve been unable to get onto the blog to write stuff down recently because I have been madly busy writing, reporting, researching and investigating elsewhere. So, what’s new in the land of Tracey’s Trash???……
Working as Editor for “El Desconocido”
The monthly, bilingual newspaper, “El Desconocido,” is out. As co-editor for this new publication, which focuses on uncovering the hidden gems of Buenos Aires, I am madly distributing it all over the city. A PDF version of the publication can be found at El Desconocido – noviembre 2009 for all those interested in having a look.
Freelancing for “Time Out Buenos Aires”
I have been writing for Buenos Aires Time Out (in print): Bar reviews and leading articles for different sections of the January edition. One is about the most glamourous recycled products that can be found in BA and the other is an investigation into what is known as ciclos de cine here in the capital; basically where lots of places, including venues as strange as hairdressers, for instance, regularly host films onsite. It’s been fun!
“The Argentimes” ONLINE
I’ve written a piece on BA Markets for The Argentimes, an English publication distributed throughout the city. Decent!

South American Explorers
The SAE (South American Explorers) Weekly Column that I write continues to pop up in those member email inboxes every week and can be viewed online by going to the SAE Website. Scroll down and click on the newsletter link as the URL changes every week.
MORE South American Explorers
An online article for the SAE Magazine on Argentine Food Truths. Mmmmmmm!

Guest Blogger Stint on Ola´s World
I am a guest blogger on Ola’s World, part of the Diverse Traveller magazine (an online publication produced for women travellers, by women travellers) and have contributed four different blogs so far (Buenos Aires or Italy?, A Day in the Life of…, Changing Currency Issues and Volunteering and Working Abroad). I also gave Ola a full length interview covering life abroad as a working female, which might prove to be a good read for some of you out there???

PAID WRITING!!!!!!! for “Webrageous Studios”
As of next week, I’ll also be writing for Webrageous…. a PPC Management Site writing about lots of things that I am going to have to research into a fair bit as PPC is not really my area of expertise…. still, we’ve all got to eat!
Footprints PAID Writing!!!!!
I did a PAID (yeh!) travel report for Footprints on Mar del Plata in Argentina (again…. print work, so nothing to show for it, I’m afraid
Oooo……. except for the cracking photo below!)

More Creative Opportunities that PAY!!!!!!!!
And…. lastly….. there’s a chance that I could be writing part-time for a company that organises tours for clients to different parts of Argentina. I would need to write for them to increase flow to their website, perhaps accompany some trips to places like Patagonia and Tandil (Great! as I am yet to visit!) and do a little PR work along the way…… Not too much of a hassle for US$8 an hour…… I’m not going to grumble, so fingers crossed on that one!
So…. sorry for being a bit rubbish with my own blog, but at least you know the reason why I’ve been so slack!

Hey there. Yes I do have one tip. Go to the Buenos Aires Craigslist (search for it in Google). Keep an eye on the jobs posted there every day. Proofreading, copywriting and translating come up regularly. You may well find something throught there.
I was reading some of your blog and found it quite interesting. My girlfriend is moving to Douth America with her family and she asked me to go. I’m finding it difficult to find a job, specifically because I am a proofreader. Do you have any advice? Your blog has given me hope. Thanks!
